BIOGRAPHIE

Don Song first picked up a guitar at the age of 10 and hasn't put it down since. At 13, he founded his first band, wrote his first songs, and played his first gig. It was such a success that he never wanted to do anything else than making music.

In the following years, he learned to play the trumpet but focused primarily on the bass. From 16 to 18, he conquered the stages of various school band competitions and won the prestigious competition at the Paul Gerhard House in Münster, Germany, against 15 other bands.

At 18, he participated in a student exchange program, traveling to Dallas, Texas, and taking part in various workshops at the university there. At 19, he played bass in the musical "Return of the Forbidden Planet" at his school.

In 1995, he moved to Frankfurt am Main, Germany, to study psychology, but abruptly dropped out when he was offered a job as a talent scout at Sony Music/Colombia in Frankfurt. For the next two years, he traveled throughout Germany, visiting countless bands, recording studios, music publishers, and concerts.

In 2000, he moved to Hamburg and signed and released his first album as DJMDG with EDEL. He also signed a songwriting deal with Warner Chappell and played over 300 concerts in the following years, both solo with his guitar and with his band. His videos were featured on MTV and Viva, his songs received widespread radio airplay across Germany, he was nominated for the 1Live Krone (a prestigious German music award), and his rock star dream came true.

In the following years he worked formost as a DJ in different Clubs on the Reeperbahn (St.Pauli /Hamburg), but also did music marketing for a famous german booze. In 2011, he moved to Bilbao, Spain, learned Spanish, and lived from street music. This was perhaps the most formative time of his life.

In 2015, he returned to Germany. To date, Tobias Schacht has lived in 9 cities, moved 26 times, worked uncounted different jobs, and experienced pretty much everything a person can experience.

Today, Tobias Schacht lives in Ahausen near Bremen, Germany, has settled in happily, and is looking forward to many more interesting years. His new show is a tribute to music history in medleys. This show took him two years to arrange, produce, and stage, and it has become a magnificent, globally unique program. May many more performances bring joy to him and his audiences.

Everything will be alright...
